School Supplies
  • Sturdy backpack
  • Plastic container with snapping lid (12” x 6”) for supplies and/or Pencil Case
  • Water Bottle (Water dispensers will be available to fill water bottles)
  • 1 box of No. 2 pencils (preferably Ticonderoga)
  • 1 box of pens
  • Highlighters
  • 2 boxes of crayons
  • 2 boxes of colored markers
  • 1 box of colored pencils
  • 5 Glue sticks
  • 1 pack of multi-colored construction paper
  • 1- 1 inch binder for home to school communication
  • 1- 2 inch binder for data collection storage and portfolio
  • Hygiene pack for older students (example: maxi pads, deodorant, wipes, etc.)
  • Extra set of clothing (even if your child is toilet trained), such as socks, pants, underwear, shirt. Please note that students cannot share items. It is important that your child have an extra set of clothes, so they can be comfortable if their clothes get dirty or wet during the school day.
  • Diapers
  • Wet Wipes

Lunch/Allergies

  • Sunrise West is a Peanut Free school. Students are not permitted to bring anything containing peanuts to campus.
  • Students may bring lunch, and healthy snacks and treats are available for purchase on campus.

Dress code
  • Students must come to school neat and clean. Clothing and accessories must be appropriate for school.
  • Only pierced ears will be permitted during the school day. No facial piercings are allowed.
  • Skirts and shorts must be of appropriate length (no shorter than standing fingertip length when student is standing straight with his/her arms pressed against the sides of their own body).
  • Sunglasses and hats are not permitted indoors.
  • No hanging chains from belt loops or pant pockets.
  • No bare midriffs, halter tops, tank tops will be permitted.
  • Students must be well groomed at all times. Students who participate in vocational/work programs are expected to adhere to professional workplace standards.
  • Clothing, hats and accessories must be respectful of racial, religious and ethnic differences. Clothing may not contain the following themes:  violence, religious, profanity, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, or be sexually provocative, morbid or gang related.
  • If clothing is deemed inappropriate by administration, student may be sent home or given appropriate clothing.
Cell phone & electronic policy
  • Cell phones may be brought to school and used during designated instructional time only. If they are brought out during unapproved time, they will be confiscated. Parents will need to come to school to retrieve the phone.
  • Devices, such as headphones, tablets, i-Pods, i-Pads and i-Touches and any other electronic device may be brought to school and used at approved times only. If electronic games are not turned over to the teacher when requested, the student will not be allowed to have them in school for the remainder of the semester.
  • Electronic items may not contain any violent, sexual or profane content.
